Static cling 101

New to static cling?

Static cling is a durable, flexible material that holds to whiteboards, glass, windows, and acrylic without any adhesive. Here's what teachers ask most:

Not a sticker

No glue or adhesive. It holds to smooth surfaces on its own.

Removable

Peels off in seconds and leaves no residue behind.

Reusable and durable

Designed and printed in-house by our family business on professional equipment with high-quality inks and materials. Made to reuse year after year.

Customizable

Many designs come in your choice of colors and fonts, and I take custom requests.

In the box

What's included

  • One ten frame base cling that counts the days of school up to 200.
  • 200 cling counters in one color or a mix.
  • Optional Hundreds, Tens and Ones chart (+$15) with cling numbers, so students can show the day count in place value.
  • Optional "Days at School" header cling (+$5) to label your whiteboard.
  • Two sizes: 48" x 7.7" with 0.9" counters, sized to run the full height of a standard 4' whiteboard (from $40), or 40" x 6.4" with 0.7" counters, which leaves room for a 3" border (from $30).
  • Your look: six Varsity Stripes colors (dark blue, light blue, red, blush, gold, and green), and 34 fonts for the header and chart.
  • Optional Binder Ready sheets (+$1) so your pieces store flat in a legal-size three-ring binder.

The teacher hack

Why teachers love it

  • Hands-on and visual. Students see and move the math, not just hear it.
  • Up in seconds. No printing, cutting, or laminating. Smooth it on and start teaching.
  • Matches your room. Coordinates with your other Reimagines clings.
  • Reusable for years. Take it down, store it flat, and use it again next school year.

In your classroom

How to use it

  • Add one counter every morning as part of calendar time.
  • Count by tens down the frames as they fill.
  • Update the Hundreds, Tens and Ones chart to match, like one ten and six ones on day 16.

Peel, cling, teach

How it works

1

Clean. Start with a clean, dust-free whiteboard.

2

Peel and cling. Peel the cling off its backing and place it on your board. Reposition it anytime.

3

Store. Put it back on its backing paper or Binder Ready sheet until the next unit.

Ordering notes

Choose your size, counter colors, and whether to add the Hundreds, Tens and Ones chart and the header. Then pick a header color, a font (34 options), and black, white, or coordinating text.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Will it stick to my whiteboard?

Yes. Static cling holds to whiteboards with no adhesive. For the best hold, make sure your board is clean and dust-free. Dust, dirt, and oil can keep a cling from sticking, and some greasy whiteboard cleaners leave a residue that does the same. If needed, clean your board with a mix of vinegar and water to break down the oil. If a cling loses its grip over time, rinse the back with water and apply it again.

Does it work on non-magnetic boards or glass?

Yes. Reimagines clings were originally designed for non-magnetic whiteboards. My mom didn't have a magnetic whiteboard when I started the business, and her classroom was my inspiration. Clings also hold to glass, windows, and acrylic.

Can I write on it with a dry-erase marker?

Please don't. Markers can remove the printed ink on a cling. Many of our designs are made so you can write underneath or next to them instead.

Will it leave residue on my board?

No. There's no adhesive, so nothing is left behind. Your board is just as clean when you remove the cling as it was when you applied it.

How do I store my clings?

Store your clings on the backing paper they ship on. Many products offer a Binder Ready option: your clings ship on 8.5x14" hole-punched backing sheets, ready to store in a legal-size three-ring binder.

Can I get a custom design or color match?

Yes. I design and print every product myself. Email elizabeth@reimagines.com with custom design requests or color matching.

How do the pieces stay on?

They're static cling, so they hold to your whiteboard without tape, glue, or magnets.

Which size should I choose?

Choose 48" x 7.7" to fill the height of a standard 4' whiteboard. Choose 40" x 6.4" if your whiteboard has a border, since it leaves room for a 3" border.

Can I use it again next year?

Yes. Put the counters back on their backing sheet at the end of the year and start again at day one in August.
